1 small bag pinto beans
1 slice bacon or ham, chopped
salt & pepper {to taste}
rinse beans in colander, drain and put in boiler
cover with water {about 3 inches above beans}
let soak all day or overnight
when ready to cook, drain water and add fresh water to cover plus about 2 inches more
add salt and pepper {to taste}
add raw bacon or ham
cook on low for a couple of hours {the longer they cook the better...just don't turn them into mush}
